MY MOST WORN LIPSTICKS

This blog post features the lipsticks that I tend to grab for recently. When I pick a lipstick I usually go for color (first), hydration (second) and finish (third).

For the Summer, there's nothing better than a peachy pink lipstick to complement the sunshine with, yet from time to time I also reach for products that have a longer-lasting power (Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer) or something quick as I'm heading out the door (Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish). A hydrating formula may come in handy on those days when my lips tend to be flaky and dry (YSL Rouge Volupte) and a sheer but buildable bright lip screams 'young and bold' (MAC Pink Pearl Pop).

3. YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick (30) - MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!
4. Topshop Lipstick (Macaroon)
5. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick (Pink Pearl Pop)
7. NARS Lipstick (Niagara)

So those are my most worn lipsticks! Let me know if you like the 'Most Worn/Most Used' series so I can continue to do more of these in the future!

REVIEW: DIOR CAPTURE TOTALE SERUM DE TEINT FOUNDATION

I bought this foundation a while ago, and if you ever tried this at the counter you will know exactly why I bought it. It's not a cheap foundation as it retails for £62.00. That's double the price of most high end foundations and well, that price is incomparable to drugstore foundations to say the least.

I tested this out at two different Dior counters, and was on the fence whether or not I wanted to spend the money on it. After testing it out the third time, I decided to take it home with me.
When I swatched it on my hand at the counters, this foundation binded to my skin like no other foundation. The finish that is left on the skin was silky, almost chiffon-like. I honestly have never had this experience with swatching foundations before - it honestly screamed out to me and forced me to pick it up - no joke.

I wore it a couple of times before leaving it behind in Hong Kong, and now that I am reunited with it again, I feel like I only just made a new purchase.

Application: With a damp beauty blender or sponge, it glides onto the skin.

Color Match: I have the shade 010 Ivory - it is slightly too pale for me but I have always been a combination of 010 and 020 in terms of Dior foundations and concealers.

Consistency: Extremely light and very easily blendable.

Coverage: More of a low to medium coverage for me. Coverage is not as buildable as other foundations. It maintains a silky natural look instead of a flawless look.

Finish: Absolutely gorgeous. It leaves skin feeling very soft.

Shine: It goes on the skin matte, but after a while there is definitely a bit of shine, especially by the end of the day but not super oily. Although I have fairly dry skin I still like to powder my T-zone after application.

Wear: The foundation does not last too well on me. I checked the mirror after 4-5 hours of wear and blemishes started to reappear and my blush became blotchy.

The foundation claims to restore radiance from 'within' and is a combination of skincare and makeup. However I have yet to see any skincare benefits, instead I was attracted to it by its lovely finish. There is a certain amount of radiance, but it ended up being oily instead of that glowing, dewy finish.

Will you repurchase it?
I don't see myself repurchasing such a pricey foundation. Much as I love the foundation, I don't think that it is worth the high price point. There are many drugstore/cheaper foundations that give a better radiant glow (such as the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation).

Would you recommend it?
If you have the money to spend on a foundation with a beautiful finish, then I think it is a good foundation to try out just considering the beautiful feeling you get after applying it.
However, if it is something that requires you to save up for, then I don't think it is a MUST-HAVE.

Hope you enjoyed this review. If you have tried this foundation before, do let me know your thoughts!

REVIEW : JOUER MATTE MOISTURE TINT (PORCELAIN)

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint  £29.00

I have been asked on YouTube what I thought about this 'tinted moisturiser', so after testing it out during my Santorini trip, I thought it was about time.

Packaging:

Packaging to me is equally as important as the product. Afterall, what's a good product if the packaging doesn't protect it from leaking?

Having said that, I am pleased with Jouer's packaging. It reminds me very much of the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation (this name will be coming up again in this post). Simple and minimal in a matte tube. I LOVE tube packaging. It makes me get more out of the product as I can easily cut off the end of the tube and scrape any remaining product out.

So Jouer claims that the Matte Moisture Tint does the following:

- Lightweight
- Nourishing
- Perfects your complexion
- Sheer, shine-free coverage
- Protects from UVA and UVB rays
- Vitamins A, C and E provide continuous moisture and has anti-aging effects
- Blends seamlessly
- Blurs blemishes
- Flawless complexion

In my opinion, the Matte Moisture Tint ('MMT')is not lightweight at all. Comparing it to lightweight foundations and BB creams, this really reminds me of the Silk Creme Foundation ('SCF') - both packaging and consistency-wise. I can definitely feel that there is something on my face. It's not tacky, but it is most definitely not weightless.

Nourishing? Not for me. I have dry skin and I definitely think I should have gone for the Luminizing Moisture Tint. But I wanted to see for myself what the hype was all about, which was why I went with the MMT. This 'foundation' enhanced my dry patches especially around my nose and mouth area - not attractive.

I have to say this foundation does blend extremely well. Along with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, coverage could be built up and the finish looks natural - but not flawless. It obviously depends what your skin is like - mine is recently very dry and uneven, which unfortunately the MMT enhances.

Shine-free? Check. It most definitely leaves a very matte finish, but still manages to maintain the natural glow from your face. I personally prefer a more glowing, dewy finish though, so this foundation is not for me.

As far as sun protection goes, who knows whether the SPF is effective or not? I always, and I have to stress this, I ALWAYS apply a sunscreen before my makeup, whether or not it has SPF in it or not. I cannot trust moisturisers/foundations with SPF, and would recommend not doing so.

In terms of coverage, I'd like to mention that it provides great coverage for a tinted moisturiser. I have previously had no luck with bb creams or tinted moisturisers as I have very stubborn scarring from horrible allergic reactions. I always like to have flawless skin instead of natural looking skin, and when I'm just running errands I tend not to put anything on my face to let it breathe.
I have to say that it provides medium coverage, nothing more and nothing less.

And lastly, whilst I was in Santorini, this stayed on for... a while. I wasn't sweating much due to the lovely breezes (take me back to Santorini please!), but it definitely stayed on for about 3-4 hours until it started to fade, blemishes started to reappear and my blush/bronzer was nowhere in sight.
3-4 hours.. long lasting to you? Let me know.

Final words:
I will not be repurchasing the MMT, but once I'm done with this I will definitely try out the Luminizing Moisture Tint. It will be better for my dry skin. However I can understand why this would be a holy grail product for oily skin!

OOTD: GRECIAN HIP (SANTORINI)

Just thought I would show you a quick OOTD from my trip to Santorini, Greece! The weather was absolutely gorgeous with the sun shining down on us, balanced with occasional breezes which cooled us down. The view, of course, was stunning and I cannot wait to go back to Greece again! If you'd like to see my trip in motion you can view my vlogs here!

Pleated maxi skirts really reminded me of Grecian Goddesses, so I went for a more modern cobalt blue color to go with the gorgeous clear blue skies of Santorini. The skirt has a beautiful frill on the waistline which adds a bit more detail and femininity to the entire look. I love how this skirt also has a lining underneath the sheer chiffon, so it also provides a bit more coverage.

I paired the skirt with a plain white graphic tee which I got last-minute from Primark. This gives the outfit an edge and makes it more contemporary. Along with a bold red shoulder bag which is perfect for travelling, the outfit has a variety of colors yet still remains bold.
My Audrey sunglasses have a yellow-tinted clear frame and very nostalgic, as the name clearly references Audrey Hepburn, it was inspired by her classic-modern combo.
My sandals are from Topshop, made in a beautiful black faux-suede material making it comfortable for walking and does not scratch my feet. The gold chain detail in the center defines the beautiful lines from the sandals.
However, I have to say, I highly recommend wearing trainers in Santorini as cobbled footpaths are everywhere, making it difficult to walk in. Sand also peeps into your sandals from time to time so watch out!

I will have a full blog post of my Santorini trip along with hotel reviews coming up soon!
