Revlon Colorburst Balm Stains - Review and Swatches

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm 130 Tease

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 245 Audacious

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 205 Elusive

After my obsession with the Banila Co Kissest Glossy Lip Crayons, my love for lip crayons/balm stains have strengthened and you can't blame me - most of them are pretty moisturizing, easy to apply and super handy and convenient for on-the-go application.

I first picked up Tease, which is a lacquer balm, giving the lips more of a glossy finish. I loved it! I have to say it is quite a dark orange, so I went out again and picked up one with a Matte finish to try out.

I tried out Elusive which was a very natural light dusty pink color. And after this, the addiction begins.

A couple of days ago, whilst browsing the drugstore, there seemed to be a magnetic force drawing me to the Revlon shelf, and I found myself swatching more and more colors. They are seriously addictive, and I must have swatched them over and over again until I decided I should resist and only allow myself one color. I finally decided to get my hands on Audacious, which has become my FAVORITE shade so far. It is a bright neon coral and surprisingly looks amazing with minimal makeup. It also reminds me of one of the lip colors Cheon Song Yi was wearing in the K-drama "You Who Came From The Stars". It effortlessly brightens up the complexion and wakes you up.
Moreover, I prefer the matte finishes over the lacquer finishes. Although less hydrating, I love the matte finish - it has more of a youthful look overall.

In terms of formula, I find these sufficiently hydrating for approximately 4-5 hours. I have naturally dry lips, and the weather in Hong Kong doesn't help the condition of my lips. Although the balm stains do tug onto my lips, I remind myself scrubbing my lips with a lip scrub and I'm good to apply - I do not need a lip balm underneath which helps me to avoid slapping too much on my lips.
The colors begin to fade approximately 3-4 hours later, but a hint of color still remains. If you are going to eat or drink, I would still recommend touching up.

Would I repurchase?
YES. In more shades please.

Would I recommend them?
Yes. I think they are just super handy to have and to stick in your handbag. It may not be the most hydrating balm stain, but I do love the pigmentation and its selection of colors.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know which product you'd like to review next!

PRODUCTS I'VE USED UP

Don't you wish products came in a smaller form, with a less hefty price tag? That way you can get the satisfaction of using up a tub of product sooner, and if you don't like the product you feel better that you paid less for it. *Wishful Thinking*

La Roche Posay Serozinc  |  Indeed Labs Hydraluron  | Laneige Hydra Solution Essence

La Roche Posay and Hydraluron has been my holy grail hydrating products over the past eight months or so. I cannot live with them and have repurchased them again and again. Need I say more?
Laneige was alright, not something I would repurchase only because it doesn't absorb into my skin as well as hydraluron does. It's in-between my morning Hydraluron and night time B5 gel, but it just has this fragranted scent that deters me from using it.

Bath & Body Works Hand Soap in Cucumber Melon  | Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel

Loved both these products. Cucumber Melon has this refreshing, rejuvenating smell whilst the Clean On Me is a great Summer time shower gel. Creamy enough to be hydrating, but not enough to be sticky  the perfect matrix.

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm

I probably do not need to talk about this product as I have mentioned it probably in every skincare or favorites video. I've also done a full review of this which you can read about here
This is my second tub I've used up. If you haven't got your hands on this already, what are you doing?!

The Body Shop Body Butter - Strawberry

One of the products that I was itching to finish, as I tried to scrape more product everytime I was closer to the finish line. It's not that I didn't like this, but it comes in such a huge tub that I begin to get bored of the scent.
I love how it is a thick creamy texture, when warmed up in the hands it emulsifies slightly so that it's not sticky at all on the skin. I recommend applying it on slightly damp skin so that it absorbs nicely.
Keeps the body hydrated, but not for too long. I have repurchased this again and again as I think it is great value for money.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex

Amazing stuff, but apparently full of hormones that can be damaging to especially those who have not had children? That was something I heard from a friend, and it makes sense. Estée Lauder put so much money into advertisement, and yes, their stuff works, but the ingredients are probably not the best.
Having said that, this is an amazing product (you see my dilemma here?). It definitely helps to repair the skin, especially on bad skin days, and I am suffering without this, but as Passenger says, 'let her go'.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

I love this! I love this! I'm onto my second bottle now, and I probably use it every single day (apart from filming). It gives off that dewy, radiant look effortlessly but provides great coverage. One thing I have found though, is that although I don't think its consistency is too thick, some people think otherwise. I then realized that I am just used to thick foundations, and I find that it hugs my skin nicely as I have dry skin. So it really depends on how you see foundations really.
Anyway, I love this stuff. Enough said.

As I have been so busy focusing on my YouTube, I plan to make shorter, but more frequent blog posts.
Hopefully some of you will still come back and read them, as aI know I have neglected this blog for a while.
