BRAND FOCUS | ZOEVA

You guys know how much I love Zoeva's brushes, and I was super stoked when Zoeva sent me a couple of their makeup products to try! I've been meaning to get my hands on some but never got round to narrowing down my huge selection left in the shopping cart at Luxola. 

So here goes my review and first impressions on all the Zoeva products I now own!

今次我會分享我對Zoeva的產品的小小評價 希望幫到大家！

Luxe Cream Lipstick - Cooling Passion*

Cool-toned reds definitely suit my skin tone more, and this is no exception. Cooling Passion is a vibrant, vividly pigmented lipstick with a creamy finish. I love how it's not patchy and glides on my lips like a dream. I had the color on for 6 hours in total before I removed it and it was still as pigmented as it was when I first applied it. What I would say though is that it smears easily, albeit the long-lasting power, so it is a lipstick that one has to be careful with (especially when you're around your boyfriend/partner - mine would throw a fit if he found red lipstick on his favorite white t-shirt!)

冷色系的紅唇膏比較適合我的膚色 而這個不例外！Cooling Passion是一個好上色且柔滑的唇膏。很喜歡它塗抹在唇上很順滑！六個小時候 依然很顯色。雖然它很持久 但是我發現它都很容易弄髒 所以如果要跟男友或友人很親密的時候要小心點喔！

Luxe Color Blush - Shy Beauty*

I've been wearing this blush pretty much every single day that I've been wearing makeup since I got it. It is a beautiful peachy pink which makes me look like I have naturally flushed cheeks. I love the simple packaging and the embossed product in the pan. It has a nice, sheer yet pigmented finish (it's difficult to explain) but complements my skin tone and feels silky smooth. 

我幾乎每次化妝都選了這款胭脂。它是很美的淺橙粉色 效果很自然呢！喜歡它的包裝 很簡單 而且還在胭脂上印了 Color. Love. Makeup - 蠻特別的。它的質感很薄透 很滑 也很顯色 非常適合我的膚色 。

Naturally Yours Eyeshadow Palette*

I love how this palette boasts 10 neutral and wearable shades - all of which I could use (unlike some palettes where there are 1 or 2 shades that I don't ever use). The eyeshadows are finely milled, very pigmented and gives off a beautiful finish. They also blend very nicely, and is a dream to apply. 

One thing I have to say is I'm not to taken to the cardboard packaging, nor the lack of a mirror. I feel like Zoeva could improve the packaging with just an addition of a mirror to make it easy for those who are taking this on vacation (which I most likely would - it has all the shades I need for day or evening makeup). Other than that, beautiful eyeshadows with amazing quality!

很喜歡這個眼影盒裡面的顏色 裡面有十款大地派的顏色 － 全部我都用得到（有時候有一些眼影盒 有幾個顏色我是完全不碰的）。眼影粉質都非常細 很上色 而且效果不錯！發現它很容易推開 塗上眼皮上都很順滑的。唯獨它的包裝有待改善 － 不但沒有鏡子 包裝用的質料是紙板 感覺不太好。而且沒有鏡子 若要帶去旅行不太方便。

Cat Eye Pen - Blackest Black*

I love love LOVE this eyeliner and have been using this every single day (when I wear makeup) since I got it! My first impression was - it sets very quickly and does not budge! I then applied it to my eyes and immediately I fell in love. I love the felt tip pen applicator, which is a stiffer tip so it's easier to control. I honestly dislike liquid liners with a flimsy applicator, as it's quite difficult for me to create a clean, graphic wing. But with this one, it's a very black color with incredible lasting power. I have not seen this smudge nor budge, and am most likely to repurchase this once I'm done!

超級喜歡這個眼線筆 已變成我的日常眼線筆！第一個感覺就是 塗上手後 短短幾秒已經不脫色了。而且我立刻愛上了它的筆頭 很穩固 較易控制 想要畫出貓眼更輕易！顏色也很黑 而且從來沒有溶過 － 用光後我絕對會購買的。

102 Silk Finish Brush

I mentioned this in my October Favorites, and my love for it is still going strong. I reach for this over my ex - the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, simply because I feel like this is softer, the bristles are just as dense yet I seem to blend my foundation quicker with this. I love how it feels on the skin and how it blends my foundation seamlessly and quickly. 

我十月最愛裡面有提及過這支掃 到現在依然非常喜歡。我現在都會先選擇這一個去塗上粉底 （反而我的前度 Real Techniques Expert Face Brush都變了次選)。感覺上它的掃毛更柔軟 很稠密 重點是用這個推開粉底是超級快的 效果也不錯。

142 Concealer Buffer

I'm going to be honest - but I don't reach for this often. Simply because I find that using my ring finger to blend in my concealer gives me more coverage, whilst using this concealer brush, my concealer blends into a very light consistency thus losing coverage. For a light, thin layer and low coverage, I'd use this as it the bristles are very dense and soft. However I tend to suffer from very dark circles which require more concealing, and this is unable to give me the finish I want. 

老實說 這個我少用。純碎因為我發現用無名指去印開遮瑕膏效果更強。使用這支遮瑕掃的話 發現會把遮瑕膏推得更薄 變相遮瑕度更少。如果我想化淡妝 我才會使用這個 它的掃毛也很柔軟很稠密 可是我本來黑眼圈很厲害 所以用這個的話 遮瑕度不夠。

227 Luxe Soft Definer and 231 Luxe Petit Crease

These are the only 2 eyeshadow brushes in the set, which makes me want to buy other eyeshadow brushes from Zoeva because these are such good quality! I love how they pick up eyeshadow pigments very well, yet softens the eyeshadow upon application so it doesn't leave harsh edges. The 227 is great for blending and applying the base color, whilst the 231 is great for adding depth and darkening the eyeshadow. 

這個套裝裡面只有兩支眼影掃 也讓我很想去買其他Zoeva的眼影掃！質量很好 而且抓粉很不錯 輕易能推開眼影。227我用來推開眼影 也可以用來塗上底色 然後231我會用來增加層次感 及加深眼影。

110 Face Shape

I use this only when I'm applying my Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate cream contour as it is the perfect shape and size to go under the cheekbones for a sculpted look. 

我平時只用它去塗上陰影膏 （特別是Tom Ford 的Shade & Illuminate) 因為它的粗度剛好可以塗抹在顴骨對下位置。

127 Luxe Sheer Cheek

This is the another brush I'm slightly disappointed with as I find that it doesn't pick up the pigments of my contour shades as well. It truly creates a Sheer finish to whatever product you are trying to apply - which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're after. I used to use this mainly for contouring as I love using an angled brush for that purpose, but it looks like I'll be applying my super pigmented blushes with this one for a sheerer, lighter effect.

這個我也有點失望 發現它抓粉沒有很好。塗上陰影粉後 發現顏色會變得透薄 如果你喜歡透薄的胭脂或陰影粉這個你該會喜歡的。因為它是斜角掃 塗陰影粉比較方便 但是我覺得用它去塗上一些太上色的胭脂會更好。

317 Wing Liner

Probably my least used brush from the Zoeva set - the Wing Liner has its advantages and disadvantages. The great thing about this is that it is ultra slim, so it can create the thinnest of eyeliners. However, since the bristles are quite soft I find it rather flimsy and difficult to maneuver. 

應該是我最少用的玫瑰金掃 － 這個眼線掃有好與不好。好的就是它非常薄 可以劃出很幼的眼線。不好的就是我覺得掃毛太軟 畫的時候會晃來晃去 比較難控制。

108 Powder Brush

Probably one of my favorite brushes in the set - the Powder brush feels lovely on the skin. It can be used for mineral powder to buff all over the face or for some quick blotting of compact powders to set your face makeup. 

這個應該是我其中最喜歡的掃 － 這個碎粉掃用在臉上感覺超好 超舒服的。可以用來塗礦物粉 也可以輕輕把定妝粉印在臉上。

So that rounds up my Brand Focus - first impressions and review of the Zoeva products.

FAVORITE FACE PRODUCTS 最愛底妝產品

As an eyeshadow/blush/lipstick junkie, I rarely take the time to talk about my face products. Probably because my routine and the products I use are quite monotonous - I rarely switch up products apart form foundation, which changes depending on the season and the coverage I want. 

So here goes, my current favorite face products for a natural, flawless and awake complexion.

其實我個人對眼影, 胭脂 跟唇膏比較感興趣  所以我談論底妝產品比較少。通常用來用去都是一樣的產品 甚少會換 （除了粉底 會隨著季節換一換）

這些就是我平常最愛用的底妝產品 讓我肌膚看起來更均衡 自然及無暇。

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

I'm on my second bottle of this "magic stuff". This does not disappoint - particularly when I want more of a glowy, dewy finish. This adds a hint of luminosity to my skin without making my face shine like a disco ball. I love its medium coverage that hides the majority of my blemishes and scarring. The only thing I would say is the shade range is quite limited, but I've felt safe with 100 Ivory so far. 

這個已經是第二瓶了！這個絕對不讓我失望 特別是當我想為臉部添加光澤感 它絕對做得到！我喜歡它遮瑕度是中等的 不太厚 但能遮掩大部份的瑕疵和印。唯獨是它有的顏色不多 但是我一直用100 Ivory都覺得不錯。

3 Concept Eyes Full Cover Concealer

I'm sure those who have watched my videos for a while, know that I swear by this concealer (I'm on my third one!). It's hydrating and light consistency makes it easy to blend, without caking up my undereye area. Despite the name, I'd say it's more of a medium coverage concealer. Due to its light, silky texture it does blend out into a thin, breathable layer. I love the doe foot applicator, enabling me to use it on-the-go and blending out with (clean) fingers. Works well on both dark circles and blemishes - definitely a HG product for me.

相信大部份看果我的視頻都知道 我有多愛這個3CE Full Cover遮瑕膏 （已經第三瓶了）。它非常的滋潤 而且對我來說很薄 所以很輕易便能推開 也不會讓眼底卡粉的。雖然它名字是 'Full Cover', 但我並不覺得它是很高遮瑕度 － 大概都是中等吧。它很容易推開 而且質感薄透。我超喜歡它的掃頭 讓我能方便地出外時都能用 更喜歡它適用於眼底和臉部瑕疵 － 絕對會再次回購。

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

I have to say, I wasn't taken to this at first. For a while, I was out of my 3CE concealer and had to make do with what I got. I then found myself reaching for this a lot for my undereyes. It has an instant brightening effect, so I wouldn't recommend this for blemishes as it may only highlight them instead! Love the consistency and to an extent, the texture feels much like the 3CE concealer, so I find that this is a great substitute.

雖然我一開始對這個沒有什麼好感。我有一段時間用完3CE Full Cover Concealer沒有時間回購 所以逼著要用這個 後來發現我不斷用它去遮掉黑眼圈。它有亮白功效 所以不建議塗在瑕疵或痘痘上 否則會更明顯的。其實質感蠻像3CE的遮瑕 很滋潤而且遮瑕度中等。

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

A very popular product amongst bloggers, the Collection concealer is one of the concealers I reach for during the summer time. It is a bit drying, which doesn't work to my skin's advantage during the Winter as it cakes up and leaves it in an unflattering mess. I do like this, however, for blemishes if I'm needing a bit more coverage than what the 3CE Full Cover Concealer can provide. 

Collection這個遮瑕在blogger界非常受歡迎。我平時夏天才用它 因為它會讓我眼底肌膚很乾 很容易卡粉的。我比較喜歡用它去遮掉瑕疵 尤其是當3CE Full Cover不足夠去遮掉一些比較紅腫的痘痘 這個能提供多點遮瑕度。

IPSA Creative Concealer

With SPF 25 PA+++, I can feel safe when using this. A concealer with SPF can help prevent premature aging and wrinkles, particularly around the eye area. I love how there are three shades to choose from, where you can easily mix colors to get the perfect shade. I mostly reach for this when my undereye circles are at its very worst. It took me a while getting used to, and figuring out what shade goes where, but once you have experimented with the shades, it does wonders to hiding those dark circles.

這個裡面有防曬功效 所以我用了它會更有安全感。有防曬功效的遮瑕膏能抗衰老 防止眼部皺紋加深。我喜歡它裡面有三個顏色可選擇 也可以混色 達到最接近膚色的顏色。通常都是睡眠不足導致黑眼圈超級超級深的時候才會用的。雖然需要一點時間去試驗 看看怎麼才混得到最適合自己得顏色 但是我覺得它遮掉黑眼圈真的很好。有時候會覺得偏乾 所以我通常會跟眼霜一起用 讓它更滋潤。

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot

The powder I reach for pretty much every single day - I love how this powder is so finely milled, translucent and not cakey or heavy on the skin. The finish it gives is an instant, satin-y finish without being too matte by allowing the luminosity from your foundation seep through. 

基本上每天都用One Heck of a Blot了。很喜歡它的粉質很細 而且無色的 掃在臉上不覺得厚。它的finish也像絲一般 很滑而且不太matte, 透薄到能讓粉底的光澤感低調地透出來。還沒有用完已經回購了 嘿嘿。

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

Recommended by my friend Suzi, I love how this powder sets the undereyes into a velvety, smooth finish. To be honest, I don't see a brightening effect. I just really love how it feels! Plus it makes my concealer last longer than usual. 

這個是我的朋友Suzi推薦的。我喜歡用它去為眼底部位定妝 讓那個位置超級柔滑！雖然我不覺得它有特別強的亮白功效 但我超喜歡塗上後的質感 而且能讓眼底的底妝更持久！

Revlon HD Lip stick & Lip Lacquer - Review & Swatches

800 Azalea 870 Tulip 855 Geranium 825 Hydrangea Recently I attended Revlon's launch event and walked away with, what I thought was, some brilliant new products that would wow me in every way possible.  Revlon HD Lipsticks
At first sight, I felt the packaging had improved from previous products. With a more airy feel to the this no-nonsense, minimal packaging I started to have expectations. Then came to the inside of the packaging which I find as a fault to the lipsticks. The lipstick does not twist all the way down under the rim of the packaging which is incredibly annoying. This is because when I want to (carelessly) put the lid back on, the lid easily damages the tip of the lipsticks.  As we move onto application, I found the radius of the lipsticks larger than most lipsticks I own. This is personal preference but I found the lipsticks too wide for my liking - as I have very strangely shaped lip (this is where I get very picky), I like to have more precision and control when I'm applying my lipstick. However I found these difficult to apply, and rather challenging to be very precise.  Several lip shades such as Tulip and Azalea were very patchy. No matter how many layers I tried to build, I find these shades rather sheer and the finish was just extremely unflattering. They gritted on to my lips and left them in a patchy mess! Geranium and Hydrangea were a bit better with higher pigmentation, which I found were easier to work with. However after one hour, the colors faded and soon enough, I was utterly disappointed. The only thing I would say is I do like the finishes of these lipsticks - with a bit of sheen but not too glossy yet not too matte.  Would I purchase? No 500 Garnet 510 Tourmaline Fire Opal

530 Rose Quartz

Revlon HD Lip Lacquer
Although I'm not a huge fan of lipglosses in general, I was slightly more impressed with the lip lacquers. Extremely high in pigmentation, the lip glosses were easier to work with and I was pleasantly surprised with the color payoff.  I know I know, I could've done better with a lip pencil to prevent feathering - however I felt like these swatches would show my readers how the product actually looks like without anything else - no photoshop, no retouch, no extra work. Just the product and my lips.  I will say though, the product is very very gloopy. Hence, on my lips it felt like a thick slab of color which then, of course, stuck to my hair. Overall it felt uncomfortable on my lips. Although not a fan of metallic shades I felt that Rose Quartz was indeed, the prettiest shade out of the ones I got sent. Garnet is probably the second best in a beautiful fuschia shade. Much as I love their blushes and their balm stains, Revlon has failed to impress me with these HD lippies. They would take a lot of hard work to make them look good, and for someone like me who are low maintenance on most days, I simply don't want to spend an extra five minutes on my lips just to work around a lip product.  Have you tried any of these new HD lippies and were you as disappointed as I was? *Products were sent to me by Revlon. INSIDE MY ERIN CONDREN LIFE PLANNER

Erin Condren Life Planner

Since the New Year I have been looking for a new, practical planner that I could easily express my creativity with to motivate me, yet still remains functional to get me organized for the year. 

Since I have multiple jobs (tutoring, YouTube/Blog, managing an online store), I need to be able to be on top of everything and know when I have a tutoring job, what videos or blog posts I need to get down, and at the same time meet the deadlines for my online store so it runs smoothly. 

I decided to try out the Erin Condren planner having seen so many YouTube videos on it and felt like it best suited my needs. 

Although rather large in size compared to my previous Filofax sized planners, I do find it functional in terms of the way it is composed. With a monthly view and large weekly spreads I am able to fit everything in it whilst being creative around it with washi tapes and stickers. 

Decoration

Of course, the first thing I did was go out and buy a bunch of washi tapes as I've never owned a single one before (shamefully, I only recently knew the existence of washi tapes - have I been living under a rock?!) Washi tapes just add a whole different level to my planner, spicing it up with color, patterns ad textures. 

Something else I began to collect are stickers. All different kinds from puffy 3D ones to flat ones, animal stickers; makeup stickers; marker stickers.. the lot! I used to have a sticker obsession and collected them in a load of sticker books which, unfortunately, my mom threw out when I got tired of them (wish I was able to make more use out of them now thinking about it). 

I also borrowed the Canon Selphy C900 printer from my sister for journaling - it is perfect for printing out thumbnail or even palm sized instagram photos for decoration and memory-keeping. 

Digital Papers, Coil Clips (Stick-E Beans Clips are the ones I use), sticky notes and journaling cards I simply downloaded off the internet also contributed to making my planner inspirational (to me) and decorative.
