NEW IN FROM NARS

I had my eye on this the minute SpaceNK posted a photo of it when it was still only available for pre-order. After about a month of thinking through I finally decided to order it and thankfully a friend was kind enough to post it to me. Some of you may know I've been on a shopping ban since September but I think this was worth breaking it for!

It contains a highlighter (Miss Liberty), three blushes and the Laguna bronzer which I always loved.
The palette is quite heavy, but its edgy laser-cut packaging and the huge mirror compensated for it.

The blushes in the packaging looks gorgeous, particularly Miss Liberty which is more of a warm toned highlighter. However, the palette really isn't the best bet for those with pale skin like me. Miss Liberty doesn't give me a beautiful iridescent glow that most highlighters do. Sex Fantasy doesn't quite show up as pigmented on my skin either - although I have yet to try it on the cheeks. It wasn't the shade I reached for on the first go.

Deep Throat and Final Cut are shades that are totally up my street. Deep Throat being a rosy pink with a hint of shimmer that makes the face glow. Whilst Final Cut is a flattering peachy coral that really brightens me up and gives me that porcelain doll complexion.
The disappointment was Laguna, as it didn't appear as pigmented as it does in the original package. It also comes off more orange toned and it didn't pick up when I tried to swatch it. I'll have to test its performance in a video.

Overall, I am pleased with this Cheek palette (trying to comfort myself here), although I do think that my faves are Final Cut and Deep Throat. This is just the perfect palette to take with me on week-long trips or longer, just so I could have a bit of a change of blush, whilst having a bronzer and a highlighter all in one.

Ever since I tried one of the NARS Satin Lip Pencils I immediately fell in love and swore that when there was the need, I would definitely return for more shades. The NARS chubby Lip Pencils are just easy to use and  best of all, glides on the lips with solid pigmentation.
I also needn't worry that the lip color would bleed, or that I'd have to worry about using a lip brush or concealer to shape my lips. As these can create defined and bold red lips without too much fuss.

The Digital World Pencil Coffret consists of five different shades and various finishes.

Starting off from the right, Descanso is a beautiful nude when applied lightly. It has a Satin finish which makes it slightly glossy, and the color is extremely flattering, even against pale skin like mine.
Torres Del Paine is almost close to a pale orangey tone. It is also a Satin finish as well as the next one down called Yu. Yu is a bright, bold, eye-catching fuschia pink. It really pops and is a showstopper for sure.
The last two are Velvet Matte finishes which I've always wanted to try. Iberico is a bold orange (similar to MAC Morange), whilst Cruella is a deep wine red. Much as I love how hydrating and silky the Satin finishes are, the Velvet Matte finishes really capture my attention as on the lips, it honestly looks very velvety. They do dry my lips after several hours of wear whilst the Satin finishes can withstand a couple hours longer.
I simply cannot choose my favorite shade, but I do think Cruella, Iberico and Descanso look the best against my skin tone.

So those are some of the Christmas goodies I've treated to myself this year. What's on your wishlist?
Will you be gifting these sets to anyone?
