LOUBOUTIN BEAUTÉ - A Trip to Loubiville

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend the launch of the new nail colors by the one and only artissan Christian Louboutin. Lets not forget that the classic red sole is one of the most coveted items in any woman's closet. I believe that now, the one-of-a-kind calligraphy-inspired nail polish bottle, will be the most coveted item on any woman's vanity. 

The nail polish bottle reminds me of the power woman. Sleek and sophisticated, yet powerful and strong.

Louboutin definitely took into consideration, not only the form of the product, but the function as well. The remarkably tall cap, inspired by paintbrushes and calligraphy, was designed to enable a firm grip, allowing easier application. And the bottle, inspired by European architecture.

The event was to celebrate the launch of thirty additional colors to Louboutin's nail polish collection, boasting vibrant and playful brights, as well as mysterious, demure darks for fall/winter. 

All the colors were inspired by Louboutin's recent and past collections of his shoes and accessories. 

A manicure session was also available to attendees, where we were able to select from designs which the house created in collaboration with renowned nail consultant Madeline Poole. 

I opted for the classic red and a playful, 'filled half-way' design which I think, was a mixture of playfulness and a slight hint of sensuality. 

First of all, I love how Louboutin gave careful thought to his Louboutin Beauté collection. Instead of carelessly jumping on the beauty bandwagon like many fashion houses have done in the past, Louboutin still references forms of art like a true artisan. Louboutin intends to paint his paradise Loubiville (an initially white canvas of geography and landscape) with the new nail collection, gradually filling it with color. This is why this was the most exciting fashion-beauty launch of the past few years for me.

MY NEW ADDICTION | HYAKU JUICES

Some of you who may have watched my Vlog Channel, may know that a few months ago, I was all about healthy eating, healthy drinking and very disciplined workouts. Well, first of all, let me tell you: 

a) I gave up - because it's Fall/Winter soon and you do not need abs for winter. 

b) I no longer have the time

c) I went on two holidays since then - and when you're on holiday, you just don't say no to the temptations.

However, after coming back from holiday having consumed all that glorious food, I felt so bloated and was in need of a quick fix (when I say fix, I mean detox). Until Hyaku got in touch with me and delivered their 5-day taster plan to me every single days for 5 days.

This was a very pleasant juice cleanse where you do not have to drink nothing but juices for 5 days straight without having any food in your stomach. I love how Hyaku doesn't work like that, and how the juices are supposed to complement your diet, instead of a replacement. I usually would pair my Crimson juice with a cup of yoghurt and granola to obtain more grains into my system.

As a child, I absolutely hated greens. And ginger. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you that veggies are not my thing. I was pleasantly surprised that all the juices were absolutely delicious, and after finishing one bottle I would crave the next. If you get tired of the same taste easily (like I do), worry not, as each day you will get a different fruit - different taste.  I also love how the quantity of the juice doesn't completely fill you up with the result of a stomach full of liquid. It is just the right amount, leaving space for food that is also essential to your diet.  What's more, Hyaku is all about being environmentally-friendly. Once you're done with your juices, you can either reuse them as water bottles, or have them collect your Hyaku box and bottles on your Friday delivery!  The result? Well to say it subtly, lets just say that you definitely feel the 'detox'. I did not look into how much weight I lost during the 5 days as ultimately, that was not my goal. Instead of lugging myself around the house, I actually felt more energized since starting the plan.  I would never say no to healthy juices delivered to my doorstep every single day. This is my answer to a healthy diet simply because it takes care of my required daily intake of fruits and vegetables (which I was naturally bad at beforehand). Moreover, the juices do not contain added sugars (yet the juices taste pleasantly sweet) nor preservatives, plus are non-pasteurized.  From my personal juicing experience with Hyaku plus their corporate social responsibility that they take seriously in protecting the environment and helping others, I can definitely say that they get a big thumbs up from me.

20 YEARS OF NARS

A week ago I was invited by NARS to check out their Fall Collection in celebration of their 20th Anniversary. Although I own a couple of NARS products, I don't tend to particularly get sucked in by their products as much. It could be their packaging, it could be the fact that I just own way too much makeup for my own good. But now, I am officially converted. 

Eyeshadow Duo: Dolomites (Limited Edition)

The first thing I walked away with, was this gorgeous eyeshadow duo called 'Dolomites'.  It was also the eyeshadow shade they used on me at the event, which left me with a lovely soft, smokey eye. I loved it so much I almost purchased it on the spot. It comes with two soft shimmery colors, a dusty pink and a warm brown. If you like eyeshadows of these tones, you best run to your NARS store as these are Limited Edition! 

Blush: 'Unlawful'

Apparently, this is 'the new Orgasm' - Unlawful. It is so pretty I can't even begin to explain how much I love it on me. It has a soft peachy glittery finish thus lighting up the entire face and creates innocent flushed cheeks. Love. 

NARSissist All Eyes On You Eyeshadow Set £35.00

I've always wanted to get my hands on the NARSissist palettes but they are forever sold out. This time I managed to get my hands on this trio Smokey Eye set. It comes with a beautiful sand color that can probably be used as a powder (depending on your skin tone); a matte taupe color that can also be used as brow powder and last but not least, a shimmery midnight black which in my opinion, is just the most beautiful black eyeshadow I have seen in my entire life. This gets a big thumbs up from me.

Also in the set, you get a Larger Than Life Eyeshadow Pencil in Via Veneto which in my opinion, is not the best eyeliner, but it comes in a mini size, plus a blending eyeshadow brush which again, makes this set perfect for travellers.

I've never really used glittery or shimmery eye pencils. In fact, I only just tend to use black or champagne depending on its purpose. But I have now changed my mind about sticking to black, and will attempt to use these gorgeous Night Series eyeliners on various occasions.

Night Bird (above) is a mysterious shimmery navy blue which I think gives off kind of a sexy vibe and Night Clubbing (below) is just a very classic-with-a-twist shimmery black. I love how they aren't too shimmery but they have just a slight hint of that chromey finish to distinguish themselves from plain, black eyeliners.

NARS Nail Polishes £15.00 
Left to right: 413 BLKR , BACK ROOM , SHAMELESS RED , L'AVVENTURA Oh my goodness. These nail polishes.  I am in love with 413 BLKR. It looks pretty damn dark in the bottle but when you apply it glides on as a chrome-like blue. The formula and finish is just right, and under light there is a slight change of color. There are no words to describe it, you'll just have to go see for yourself. Back Room is a plain glossy black color, which is not something I would normally wear, but good to have (you never know, right?) Shameless Red is something I would always wear. A youthful coral color which is great for all seasons. Last but not least L'Avventura is a color that you probably see everywhere. This does not really catch my attention but I do have to say, these nail polishes can last 3 weeks chip-free. I've seen it happen myself!

Satin Lip Pencil Mandore £18.00

I hardly wear red lips nowadays because I simply can't be bothered to use lip pencils and lip brushes, yet this lip pencil makes a red lip look so effortless all in a few swipes. 

All you have to do is fill in your lips as normal. I love how this texture isn't too thick and drying, and leaves a slightly glossy finish to my lips.
